The New Mon ster Show will exhibit in Americus on Monday, October 27. Visitors will have much to please and astonish them on that day. The street parade, which takes place at 10 a. m., is a gorgeous spectacle, and the beautiful gilded wagons, gaily caparisoned horses and riders, reflecting in the sun the bright and dazzling costumes with which they are adorned, make up such a scene of grandeur and splendor as to captivate every one. We advise our readers to keep well posted on the date, for there will be a grand holiday sight on that day. The Mill Pond, Wednesday night the Mayor and City Council met to try the Mitch ell mill pond case, which the Board of Health hnd adjudged a nuisance and recommended abated. Thirty- eight witnesses had been summon ed, all answering but about half dozen. E. G. Simmons, for the defendant, plead for a continuance on account of absence of impor tant witnesses, but as it was im possible to get through with the witnesses present, the court rultd that the trial be proceeded with as far as possible. About half dozen witnesses were examined for the city, and then the case wa, continued until last night. The fight promises to be a strong one on both sides, and if better pro gress was not made last night than the night before, the case will not come to an end before Saturday night. With her pretty face, frolicsome ilgurq, her mirth, music, dancing, and “cute” little ways, ahe haa won her way to the hearts of her audi ences. It is her first appearance in Atlanta, and it is but due the deserving and delightful aoubrettc to say that in her character of “Mizpah” she won the sympathies of her audience to a remarkable degree. Her dancing is entitled to much praise, while her vocal powers met the hearty approval ol her andicuces. Her support i, ex cellent. In fact it is a carefully selected and strong company.
