There are two gentlemen doin g business together in the city whoee lives form a striking parallel. They are about the same age; went to the war in the same company; detailed at same time ns sharp shooters; captured at the same lime; both sent to Ft. Delewurc; took small pox nt same lime; each received two wounds, nearly in the •nine place, and came home to gethcr. They are now doing busi ness together, and when one takes a drink, both feel frisky. Yet they are no kin, aud were strangers prior to the war. Tuesdty night, and, al'hougb her fame is wide-woi'll, there may be some who are not acquainted with her history. For tin benefit of thoso we give the following account, from an exchange, of who and what she i«: Patti Rosa, who assumes the leading role, lias been known by that name ever since she was a child and first went upon the stage. Her real n .me is Miss Jessie R isa Buckingham. Altboueh young, she liae traveled extensively in Australia. New Zealand, the stand wichand Fe«j.e Iwlands, Van Die* man's L-kiitl and through the South anil West in the United Suites. Her tour through the West was full of curious episodes. She says ol her trip through Arams: *'Ac tors who tcink one night stands and traveling hard work know nothing about It. There were four of us who went from California— three gentlemen besides mysrlf. We traveled where we could by stage coach, and at other limes on burros or the Mexican mules, car rying costumes, properties, etc., in backets hanging on the sides, ns is the custom. We used to play in the towns, many of th< m with only a single street of adobe huts, and generally the place we would give the show in would he the Court house, usually nothing lint a square room, in which we would just put up a curtain and have candles for foot-lights. Tne people bought places for reserved seats, and brought their own chairs to set in, and usually in the rear, sort ol ‘standing loom only,’ would lie a number of Yuma Indiana, whose I costume, like those of the burlesque actresses, was conspicuous liy its absence, a simple breech clout til ing all they wore. Our advertis ing was done in a simple manner, generally a few dodgers put up alter we stiuck town. I shall nev er forget, at Tuaron, Arizna, we had sii Indian carrying one of my large lithograph*, anil another In dian ringing a hell ahead. When they came hack alter pitrolling the town, the Indian carrying the picture was holding it upside down. Our orchestra was one musician, and he played the violin inside and the count mid bass drum outside before the show opened. Many a time I have hummed mv own music fur danc ing wnen the orchestra was sick. You would he surprised at the business we would do, taking in some nights $IS9 or $200 Of course, through the minitig towns, we would have male audiences altogether, lint, though rougli min ers, they were alwuys respectful >o me, and nothing was too good lor me, and I became the greatest favorite. Schirffim, the founder of Ihe Tombstone, was n great friend of mine, and when I bud a benefit the Iasi lime I was in llie town, lie was unable to be present, hill sent $000, and said it was to buy seals for bim, unit insisted on my accepting it. 1 could tell you enough of my queer experiences to fill vour paper.” Ro*a lias a large repertoire ol tonga wbieh will be introduced to enliven her performances. Among them are-‘Tua Little Start Won't Tell," written ex,>ready for her. ,, XUPEBIOH COURT Stand Wack •( Oetob.r Tara, last. ' K ° ' yOtpUfy*..ghta Allen. Larceny Irbrn tfid honw. Verdict gu Ity.
