Tuesday morning Will Fagin came in on the early train with John Lopcr in custody, who jump ed his bond nt the last term of court. Fagin only left for him on the ten o'clock train the night be - fore, and seemed to have bad his man spotted. I.oper was up at last court for stealing some corn and cotton, anti Mr. U. D. Watts went on his bond, and at once Lopcr left lor parts unknown. About Spelling, A noted American said that he would not give a cent for a man who eouldn’t spell a word -'more limn one way. Telegrams were sent ordering cart ridges for the guns, which will be here in ample time. It is probable that one of the nicest parts ol the jollification will be the fireworks, which will be sent up from the artesian tower, so all can have a fine opportunity of see ing them. The committee in charge of this part of the programme will do all in their power to make the display a creditable one. The parade and torch-light pro cession will ho headed by the fire companies and will be in charge of Chief J. J. Smith and Assistant J. W. Mize. After these will follow the band wagon anti band, cotton buyers in ranks, trades in their va rious orders, and Boaters and trans. paroncies. The procession will form at the Council Chamber and march down Lee to Church Street, up Church to Hampton, up Hamp ton to Lamar, up Lamar to Cotton Avenue, down the Avenue to For syth, and up Forsyth to the Opera House, where the Bpcaking will take place. All the lime of the march the two caunons will be booming, the lire-works be going olf, and a thousand and oue tin horns be blowing. Speeches will probably be made by Congressman Crisp, Judge Hawkins and other prominent citi zens. The ladies and children are in vited out to see the demonstrations, and for the first time in twenty- four years see a Democratic Na tional Jollification. The people from the country are especially in vited, and on them we rely for the pine to keep the bonfires going. Many loads have already been con tributed. In order to prevent any accidents in the way or fire, both steamers will be kept heated and ready for action. Bryan for $90, confirmed. The bill of I’rof.
