The Goldens.
The Goldens presented •’Forget
Mc-Not” at the opera houae, Fri
day night, to a very large hojia^
notwithstanding the extreme bad
weather. While the play does not
abound in a heavy plot, it wds ad
mirably rendered, and.clicitcd pro
found admiration. There : wef»
some beautiful scenes that were id
vivedly rendered as to forever im
press them upon the minds of the
listeners. As for the merits of
‘‘Forget-Me-Not,” it would be hard
to conceive anything mare realistic
than Mrs. Golden’s presentation of
tbat charaoter, |nd we could, with
equal force, say the same of Mr.
Golden’s “Sir Horace Welby.” _ It
was all so real that when the faoe
in the garden was shown wo could
feel tho terror and anguish ot
Stephanie.”
The thrilling situation ot the last
act was only equaled by tho mar
velous manner in wbiob the Gol
den’S hold tip their parts in the
long interview in the second act.
It is a good troupe throughout,
and one which will delight any
lover of the drama.
The troupe la superior to wbat
it was last year, although they
have been traveling, under difficul
ties, so many of them being ill. It

Saturday morning a negro named
Gabe.Rogers bought four pair of
shoes from J. H, Black & Sons,
and left three pair wrapped in a
bundle with his name on them.
After a short while a strange negro
