Information comes to us of tho killing of ■ negro named John Walter., on Saturday night, iu the Redbone district or. Lee county, by young Joe Wallers, It seems that young Walters;,’ (he deceased aud two other negroes were in a crib shucking corn, when n difficul ty of some sort arose between the white boy and the negro. It was sosudden in its nature that 1 the other negroes did not know of its occurrence. The first intimation they bad of it was seeing the negro lying dead from the etfeet of a knife wound. He bad en ear of corn grasped in bis hand; and It Is supposed he pas in the attitude of striking young Walters with it when he was killed. We learn, further, that the negro bore a bad reputation in the dis trict for quanelsomeness. Our informant states that the above are all the facts in the case known In the neighborhood, and the causes of the killing are alto gether a matter of coujuctnre. As far as is known, no-arrest has been made,, , ,, , , , * * - AV Ol4 Tale ‘/ohrevhl ^ Jonesboro, Ga., News. Some twenty years ago a num ber of jolly boys caught a buzzard in Augusta, Ga.. and belled him. Shortly afterwards the identical buzzard was seen in New York city, and lie has been turning .up ever eince, at different! times, in different places, and we are not eure bnt he line visited Switzerland and other foreign lands during the past twenty yoars. . A short while ago the said buzzard was seen to fly over Home, and one day last week be paid w visit-to tho farm of Mr. Jack Hamrick, a few miles from town. He was carrying his bell with him, and filled the air with musio as he swiftly sped on bis way. So say tho neighbors, and we have no right to disbelieve them.
