Daring th* pMt week W* attend ed court at Ellavill*. Going up from Andoreonville, w* enjoyed a rid* on the new Buena Vista road, and mutt confess tkat wo were charmed with the management of the road. Mr., Singleton, tbs gen- tlemanly conductor, pointed out place* oi interest near the line. The road runt through some floe farming lands. At Ellaville we noticed a good many elgna of Improvement, among others the warehouse ol W. D. Mur ray, which seems to be doing a fine business for its age. There have been received there, to date, four teen hundred bales of cotton, and about seven hundred have been shipped from the depot, nuking th* total number handled about 2,100. This Is a good beginning, and we predict that another year the re ceipt* will he so large that addi tional fkoilities for storing and handling Will be required. Thore -were tew oases, of any lin- portanco, disposed of. The natives of Schley sssm to bo a law-abiding, hospitable and'patriotic-pimple. Tbo railroad is completed four miles , west of Ellaville, and traek laying is going on at a lively rate. In company with Major Brim- berry we made a flying visit to Buena Vista, whoro wc wero well entertained by Mr. Williams, who know* precisely how to take care of his guests. .On the return trip from EUaviUe in company with Judge Fort, wa visited tbo National cemetery and took in the whole thing. A lad ahowed us tbe way through the old atookaue among tbe half-filled wells and down to Providence spring. Judge V. was familiar with the ground, and hla comments and explanations were highly en joyable. Altogether, wo have never en joyed a week better than we did our aojourn in Schley. There has lately been cslabliabtd in Ellavill* a new grocery bnsidesa, the truit* of Murphy A Chaney; and, being ttfergetlo young men, they will doubtless succeed. We enjoyed every kindness from tbe business men of Ellaville, for which we ten der sincere thanks. Solicitoc. W.J.LEMFE ; ' ST. LQU18 LAOEB BEER ON DRAFT.
