Blind Tom.
Blind Tom was greeted by a
good bouse Wednesday night, ono
which aeomed to fully appreciate
hla wonderful talent. Tom is as
much, if not more, of a curiosity
than a musician, and bis sayings
and doings ware listened to with a
great deal of intcreat. His execu
tion on the piano is very fine, and
with it and hla voice be is capable
of imitating almost any sound.
He played “Tbe Battle of Mannas-
ass,’’ bis own composition, whieb,
though eruda, showed a wonderful
knowledge of tbe reproduction of
battle sounds. He is the same old
Tom, and does not seem to have
improved or lost any or his won
derful talent, although be has con
siderably widened its scope.

Somo of the boys woke np with
heavy heads and hearts, yesterday
morning, but during the day they
brightened np. After the result
was announced, Wednesday night,
the Felder men got out torches
and marched over the town, shout
ing and singing with Joy. Speeches
were made by tbe leaders, and all
went merry as u marriage bell.
Mr. Glover, who received the
highest number of votes cast for
alderman, was very much surprised
at tbe result.
When the vote was announced,
the boys took Tab Oliver up on
their backs and marched trium
phantly aronnd with him. They
would have dene tho same for Joe
Boney, but be was a size too large,
Last night the friends of Roney
and Oliver had a jollification in the
court bouse, and as the writer
was there, be is not prearedd to
-give an extended account of it in
this morning’s Recorder.
Yesterday was principally de
voted to congratulations, commis
erations and the paying of election
bets. Very little ill feeling has
been shown in the election, and
now that it is over, everybody
breathes a sigh of relief.
Love’s Young Dream.
Tuesday night, at a ball seven
miles from Araericu™ a young
couple after some bantering agreed
to get married. A bridal parly
was made up, and Wednesday
morning they started for the city.
Bets were made on the result, and
it looked as if they were in dead
carnc.t. At Sailer’s Mill Creek,
however, the young man’s heart
failed him and he backed squarely
out, thus verifying the Baying that
