A tew days ago we mentioned
the fact that the last number of the
Prairie Farmer, published at Chi
cago, Ill., contained a letter from
this city descriptive of Southwest
Georgia. Within the past two
days we nave received letters from
Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan,
Nebraska and Arkansas, referring
to the letter in the Prairie Farmer
and asking for further information
regarding this country. This win
ter has been a particularly severe
one in the North, and the people
there are turning their attention
toward a warmer climate. If our
people wish t*» secure Northern
immigration, now is the time to
strike. A tew thousand papers or
pamphlets circulated in the North
now would do a wonderful amount
of good, and it would be a paying
investment for our County Comi
misaioners and City C ouncil to
spend a couple of hundred dollars
in preparing and circulating infor
mation regarding this county and
city.

The Fire Limits.
Friday morning Maishal Lingo
and policeman Reagan took a line
aod measured the fire limits. They
extend, from the court house, one
thousand feel, in every direction.
Coming north on Troupe street the
limit reaches Buck Reagan's resi

center of Wheeler street; west on
Lamar street to a point about ten
feet beyond Hampton street; south
on Jackson, just beyond Burkhal-

lower side of Mrs. Hueling’s yard;
east on Forsyth street to within
ten feet of Wynn street. Boys
who own bicycles will be glad that
the limits are clearly defined, as
beyond it they may ride their fiery
steeds on the side-walks.
