Ou the first of September, 1884,
there had Itcen tcceivcd but about
three hundred and fifty bales of
cotton. This season’s report for
ncwcoilon was up to one thousand
and forty-three hales. Tbcpr : ee,
at that time, was about nine cents
for middling. This season eight
and five-eights is about the best
llguio. There were one hundred
and ninevy-anc bales in the watc-
houses on the first of September
'84 and we have now three hun
dred and twenty-seven bales on
hand. Kvciyltiing indicates a busy
season, andj lartn supplies of all
kinds, are so wonderfully cheap
that farmers who aic out of debt
will hardly feci the low prices
paid for cotton. Our farmers hav
