Atlanta Constitution.
Will Georgia be represented at
the World’s Fgir at Chicago in ’82?
Wilt slit make an exhibit of her
magnificent resources there to at
tract the tide of capital and imral
gration to her borders?
Or will she stand alone, solitary
the one state out of tho forty-five
that compose this great country,
unrepresented aud unknown at
hat is to be the grandest expos!
tlon ever held under the sun?
If such a thingsbould happen the
people of Georgia would sorely feel
the humiliation of their situation.;
Everything regarding the out
line of the great .show haB been
completed, and In a short time the
president's proclamation will put
the world on notice.
Other states have made rich ap-
propriatlons aud already applied
for space to display their resources
As yet Georgia has done nothing.
Colonel Charlton H. Way, of Sa
vannah, commissioner for the
Statu of Georgia to the world’s fair,
is now In Atlanta for the purpose of
seeing what can be done towards
havlug the state creditably repre
sented among her sisters In the
great world's display In Chicago.
Under the constitution of the
state, the legislature 1a not author
ized to make an appropriation for
any bucU purpose.
Saturday, Col. Way held a cqn
ferenee with Governor Nortben
and a number of the members of
legislature upon tbo subject, aud
to-morrow he will continue hls ef
fort* to have Georgia represented
at the fair.
When he came to Atlanta, Inline
diately relumed from a sessiou of
tho world's fair commission at
Chicago, in which he took a con
spicuous part.Colouel Way believed
the legislature could and would
freely appropriate a sufficient sum
of mouey to provide a creditable
exhibit. He bad hls work outlined
accordingly, and submitted his
Ideas to Governor Nortben.
But the discovery of the fact that
the legislature won d probably be
powertess to make an appropria
tion, somewhat discouraged Colo
nel Way’s original plat), which
was for a convention omnposed of
delegate*from every county In the
State to meet in Atlanta in May,
and after discussing the situation
recommend au appropriation by the
legislature. —
To-duy the matter will be prone-
cuteil In"a different shape.
At Colonel Way’s Instance Mr.
Kyats will Introduce a resolution In
the bouse of representatives pro
viding for the appointment of a
committee of three from the house
and two from the Senato, this eom-
mittco to confer with Governor
N'nrtheuimd devise a Way 4f pro
viding for 'Georgia's representation
at the world’s fair.
Colonel Way Is determined to
leave nothing undone to have' the
State represented as she ought to
baT"
"It would be exceedingly humil
iating,” said Colonel Way to a
Constitution, reporter yesterday,
if peorgia should falttb be repre-
ented at wlikt'lscertaluly going to
be the greatest exposition of the
klnd ever held in' this or any other
country. j :

thing la done andwttled now. The
buildings have been located, the
plans aocepted, and in a abort time
the work of erecting them will be
actually begun.
"At the Paris exposition there
were 50,000 exhibitors We will
have at Chicago 100,000 or 120.000
exhibitors. It will undoubtedly be
the grandest demonstration of the
world's resources ever planned or
achieved. ,
“Georgia is looked to for a repre
sentation in keeping with the repu
tation which the state and the peo
ple of the state enjoy abroad. It
would be a lasting humiliation if
we should ctaud hack when every
other state in the union is making
a display of its wealth.
“Every dollar that we invest In
the world's fair will come back to
us tenfold."
Colonel Way will agitate the
world’s fair question thoroughly
during the coming week. He is
very hopeful that some way can be
found by whloh the state may have
a creditable representation.
He says it will take *60,000 to do
it.
Weak Men and Weak Women.
Men and women both sutler from
weakness and loss of strength.
Women, however, suffer more than
men. Men don’t have those hear
ing down pains, the bane of a weak
woman’s existence. Both, how
ever, have their dizzy spells, both
bemoan their loss of appetite, their
lack of energy, that feeling of wea
riness aud constant fatigue. Both
become languid, insipid, and life to
either hardly seems worth living.
Tlielr kidneys are weak and seem
wasting away. Their livers are in
active, their stomachs disordered,
their bowels irregular. Oh! fools,
foolish men and women! why will
you not seek the way to health and
strength. Others as miserable as
yourselves are now iu the full en
joyment of happy, joyous life, sim
ply because they put prejudices
aside aud begau the use of that ex
cellent alterative known as Dr.
John Bull’s Sarsaparilla. Ask
your neighbors who have used It
what they think about it. Ask
your druggist for a bottle, and don’t
take any other.

It is a very handy calendar for a

that may be made for that day.
