Al. Field’s Minstrels held the
boards at tbe opera house last
digbt, and a big crowd was de
lighted with the performance. Tbe
street parade came off about noon,
and premonition of the night’s per
formance was given tbe publio by
tbe fine looking company and tbe
excellent band.
Tbe performance opened with
the boat scene, introducing the race
between steamers, Robt. E. Lee
and tbe Natchez, on the Mississippi.
It was novel and good,’and pleased
the audlenoe greatly. In it were
many excellent songs and dances,
too numerous to mention indivi
dually.
“Cradoc, the King of Roman
Axes,” did some handling which
justly entitles him to his title.
Billy Van is great in his mono
logue, and simply can’t be ex
celled.
Tbe Morrissey brothers did good
work in their song and dance act.
Edward Eatus is the best equili
brist yet in America*.
Tbe M*gnanl troup, In their
novel music part, were excellent.
The performance dosed with the
Military Extravaganza, one of the
chief features and a good one.
Some regular old timedanolng waa
brought in which waa greatly ap
preciated.
All in all the show it the best
minstrel that has been hen-, and
the audlenc* was highly pleimed.
