The following clipping Is from a lead-
ing exchange:
“An audience thet taxed the capacity
of the opera house welcomed Gormans
minstrels last evening. The aim of the
Gormans is to lesd in minstrelsy, and
their record before the public indicates
that In this direction they have been
pre-eminently successful. Tho Gormans
are not content with ordinary succeaa
and following the policy pursued by
many minstrel organizations of travel
ing upon reputation secured in the past,
but are constantly on the alert to secure
novel features that wii! add to the at
tractiveness of tlie program and secure
the continued support of the amusement
public. Last evening, instead of the
old time first part, with the company ar
ranged In a semi-circle, and the orches
tra in the rear, the curtain went up on
scene of “Lorillard's Qeception,” fol
lowed by a drill In which the move
monts wore perfect. Tho same novel
features continued through to the end
of the program. The company is nu
merically and artistically strong, and
the entertainment of a character, that
does not stoop to vulgarity to sccuro ap
plause, the entire program being
fined character. The Gormans have
achieved auccesa because they deserve it.
