A Bf( Deal. .
The Polk Count/ Mining Cumpany,
who have for two or three years been
engaged largely and very profitably en
gaged in mining Iron oro near Cedar-
town, has recently purchased a large
tract of Iron ore lands In Cherokee
county.
The property is perhaps as fine as can
bo found in the stato, or in the South.
It is contiguous to the famous iron
property of the Chattahoochee I.and
Company. Analysis shows that this one
is the same quality as that owned by the
Chattahoochee company. The ore is
about one mile from the railroad, and
runs sixty-five per cent, metallc ore.
The Polk County Mining Company Is
a strong concern, and with plenty of
money and brains backing it, there is no
telling tire magnitude their enterprises
may ultimately assume.
Prominent hector Accused of Murder!
A gentleman recently made a startling
accusation in the hearing of the writer.
Said lie: “I fimiy believe that Dr. ,
intentionally or unintentionally killed
my wife. He prououned her complaint
—consumption—incurable. She accept
ed the verdict, and died. Yet, since
j then, l have beard of at least a dozen
cases, quite as far advanced its hers, that
have been cured by l)r. Pierce's Golden
Medical Discovery. Her life might
have been saved, for consumption is not
incurable." Of course it is not. The
“Discovery” will remove every traeo of
It, if taken in tirao and used faithfully.
Consumption Is a disease of the blood—
a scrofulous affection—and the “Discov
ery" strikes at tiie root of the evil. For
all cases of weak lungs, spitting of
blood, severe lingering coughs and kin
dred ailments, it is a sovereign remedy.
The Memorial day exercises at Thom-
aston have been postponed from April
| 2d to May 18 on account of the scarcity
of flowers.

The Mrrrlent Girl That** Out.
“Bonnie, Sweet ilenaie, tho Maid of
Dundee,” was, no doubt, the kind of a
girl to ask, “What aro tho wild waves
saying?” or to put “a little faded /lower”
in your button hole, she was so full of
vivacity and beaming with robust «+ ToTinectcpp
health. Every girl in the land can be ISnugggggy
just as full of life, just as well, and just
as merry as she,, since Dr. Pierce has
placed his Favorite Prescription within
reach of all. Young girls in tlioir teens
passing the age of puberty find it a great
aid. Delicate, pale and sickly girls will
find this a wonderful invlgorator, and a
sure corrective for all derangements and
weakness incident to females.
