THE aMERICUS DAILY TIMES-RECORDER: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 1891.
CONDENSED NEWS DISPATCHES.
A MAD POET
rushed Into a newspaper office recently,
and threatened to “clean out” the es
tablish ment, because they printed his
verses wrong. Said he: “I wrote. ‘To
dwell forever in a pent of peace,’ and
you idiots put it ‘a pot of grease.'”
The inoriiiicd editor presented idnt
with a vial of Dr. Pierce's Pleasant
Pellets, a year's subieriptiou and an
apology.
The little “Pellets” positively cure
sick and nervous headache, biliousness,
costiveuoss, and all derangements of the
stomach, bowels and liver. It's a large
contract, but the smallest things In the
world do the business — Dr. Pierce's
Pleasant Pellets. They're the small
est, but the most effective. They go to
work in the right way. They cleanse
and renovate the liver, stomach and
bowels thoroughly—but they do It
mildly and gently. You feel the good
they do—but you don't feel them do
ing It.
They’re the cheapest pill you can
buy, because they’re guaranteed to give
satisfaction, or your money is returned.
You only pay for the good you get.
That's the peculiar plan all Dr.
Pierce's mci.iciues are sold on, through
druggists.

This is the way
with the Ball corset: if you
want ease and shapeliness,
you buy it—but you don’t
•keep it unless you like it.
After two or three weeks’
’wear, you can return it and
have your money.
Comfort isn’t all of it
though. Soft Eyelets, and
"bones” that can’t break or
kink—Ball’s corsets have
both of these.

sprang a sensation here by creating a.
lively scene in the office-of Major J. C.
Bundy, editor of The Roligio-Pbilosqph-

She has been for a number of yenrs a
terror to the people of that region, and
her crimes and cruelties fur exceed
those of tlie ordinary brigand in Tur

A r«*culiur Phenomenon.
Monroe, Ga., Oct. SO.—A very pe
culiar phenomenon was witnessed by
parties traveling in the afternoon
ibortly after sauset. Distinct warm
waves were encountered in the cool at
mosphere of the October afternoon. In
walking in a southerly direction, abont
half a mile from the courthouse, some
three or four warm currents were no
ticeable, each lasting the distance of
two or three ordinary paces. The sen
sation was so marked as to remind one
of the touch of warm water after being
in cold air, and in emerging from the
wnrtn current into the normal temper
ature was like the touch of ice. It was
a peculiar phenomenon.
Mistaken Identity.
Indianapolis, Oct. 26.—Several days
ago a man was found drowned in the
canal, and the body was identified by a
grand-daughter as the remnins of J. E.
Jones of Philadelphia. She ordered the
body prepared for burial, and the cof
fined remains were left at the rnergne
to await further instructions. In a
short time a stranger colled to see "the
fellow named Jones of Philadelphia,"
who was fonnd in the canal. After
viewing the body, he expressed his in
dignation "that any body should think
be looked like me," and the explanation
followed that he was the only living J.
