The Sixth regiment, it is reported, has
joined the ranks of the insurgents at
the town of Uruguayans, on the
Uruguay river, in the southwestern
part of Bio Grande do Sal Its com
mander, Colonel Salgado, also has gone
over to the Eevolutfonists. Their de
sertion of the dictator was enthusiasti
cally greeted by the inhabitants ot
Uruguayans, who appear to be unani
mous in their opposition to Fonseca.
Besides Urugusyana, the towns of
Pedrito, Alegrito, Eosario and Itagul
have, it is said, dsclered in favor of the
Insurgents. The forces of the new
Brazilian junta, which is composed of
Dr. Casol Bibeiro, Dr. Astir Brazil and
General Osorio, are said to number now
40,000 men. They are reported to be
well armed and filled with enthusiasm.
Their leaders are said to be planning an
immediate, attack upon Porto Alegre,
the capitol of Bio Grande do Sul, which
still remains loyal to the dictator. The
garrison atCasapava is reported to have
§ one over to the rebels. This makes
ie fourth garrison that line deserted
Fonseca.
At the towns of Santa Ana and
Livramonto tne troops of the junta are
said to be preparing to marcii upon Bio

the revolution seems very strong among
these troops, and they express eagerness

for a battle with Fonsecu s soldiers, de
claring that they have no doubt of the
latter’s overthrow.
A conflict between the government
and its enemieB seems imminent. The
government fleet at Itagni, consisting
of two monitors aud three gunboats, has
been delivered np to the junta. This
has caused great rejoicing among the
insurgents. The United States steamer
Essex expected to go to the town of Bio
Grande do Sul, on Putos Buy, was una
ble to do so owing to the shoals at the
entrance of the bay.
Uail advices via Coatz state that the
Bevolutionists in Bio Grande do Sul
have surrounded the arsenul ntltagui.
It was defended by 8UU government
troops. The Insurgents demanded its
surrender. The commander refused to
deliver it np. The town is in a great
state of alann.and the panic-stricken in
habitants are fleeing from it. ,
On. lllg Concern Sue. Another.
Denver, Nov. 16.—David H. Moffatt
and George W. Clayton, two of the
principal owners of the Citizens' Water
company, have brought suit against
the Denver Water company and the
Farmers’ Loan and Trn.t company to
recover payment on (160,000 worth of
bonds, which, with interest, was dne on
Oct. 1. The plaintiffs allege that the
American Water company, absorbed by
the Deliver City, is insolvent, and asks
that the court appoint a' receiver to set
tle np its affairs. The bonds were
originally loaned by the Domestic Water
company, another concern bought np
by the Denver, and were guaranteed by
tne latter, hence the tut against the
Denver City oompany.
Another Chinese Revolt.
Shanghai, Nor, la—A revolt broke
out Nor. 11 near Foo-Choo, one of the
treaty ports and capitol of the province
of. Fo-Kien, on the JKn river. The
rebels had for a time fall away, and
marched in force upon Tehwoi, sackad
the towns of everything valuable,
burned a number of bouses to the
ground, killed several people, and at
last advices were resting after their
labors, preparatory to sacking other
towns.
