THE AMEKICUS DAILY T1MES-REGOKDER: SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12, 1891.
AM Ojpommiiy!
TN consequence of my con-
* templated removal to the
two large and elegant stores
recently vacated by the Bee
hive and Americus Grocery
Company. I will, during the
coming week and until remov
al, make an
in the prices of all goods.
Now is the time to buy your
suits, either for Men, Youths
or Children, as we will show
you prices never before seen
in Americus. Our great sale of
is now in progress, and we
hope to close out the entire
stock by January ist, if low
prices on good goods consti
tute any attraction.
We have had an immense
trade the past week in Over
coats, but in consequence of
new arrivals in this deparment,
we are still prepared to offer
you a stock that cannot be
equaled in variety, and at
prices that you will be sure to
find agreeable to the times.
We have some special at
tractions in
We want to close out ar big
lot of these before removal,and
will offer at prices that will be
sure to move them rapidly.
Bring on the boys and fix
them up. It is predicted that
we are to have an unusually
severe winter, so I give you
good advice: Take care of the
boys’ comfort and save big
doctor’s bills. “An ounce of
prevention is worth about a
ton of cure.
Remember we are closing
out several lines of
and will give you prices never
before seen in Americus.
The above notice on all bus
iness and no buncombe. Give
me a call and you will be con
vinced.
Thanking you for your veiy
liberal patronage during the
Fall and Winter, season, and
soliciting a continuance of the
of the same, I dm. as ever,
ikitoi Waealky.
MRS. MAVBRICK’S MOTHER
Oil* to See Her Behind lb* PH»* Wall*.
Efforts for Her Ksleaae-
LOXDOM, Due- 11—Permission feldora
granted to life prisoners wa*. given to
Ura. Ma.vbrick to receive a visitor from
the outside world. It wa* her mother,
Baroness Caroline de Roque, now
resident of Ronen, France. From, her
mother Mrs. Maybrick first learned of
the efforts being made to restore her to
her children and the world. 8he was
told of the money which bad been con
tributed by people in the United States
to pay counsel to attempt to secure her
release, and of the Manchester fund
which had been raised for the same
purpose.
latter the baroness was interviewed
regarding Mrs. Maybrick by • repre
sentative of the Associated Press. The
baroness ssid she fonnd her daughter
looking ill. She is very weak, and ia
frequently an inmate of the prison hos
pital. She is nimble to sleep or to eat
the coarse food given to the prisoners.
During the coarse of their short con
versation Mrs. Maybrick said in de
spairing tones to her mother:
"I have done nothing. Nothing baa
been proven against me. Why do they
keep me here? Is it because I am a
poor little American girl? I cannot un
derstand wliy they will not give J ‘
mercy or par.lon and let yon take
away. I mr deeply, deeply, grateful to
my Americ a friends for all they have
done in my behalf. ”
Baroness de Roque said that Mat
thews, home secretary, and the prison
officials always gave her the greatest
facilities when she visited the prison.
She declared that Mrs. Maybrick it
treated with the ntmoet courtesy by
those in whose charge the is.
Mr. Lnmley, solicitor, lug had tad is
still having many conferences with Sir
Charles Russell, to discuss new points
in relation to arsenic and arsenical
poisoning. These points were not sub
mitted at Mrs. Maybridrt trial. They
are regarded aa having such an impor
tant Wring on the case, that both
Lnmley and Sir Charles Bossed believe
that they will be sufficient to bring
about the release of Mrs. Maybrick.

It is now expected the government
will appoint a military governor of tht

It is feared that in the event of
