ol salt, each weighing 100 ponnde, the
total weight being two million, five
hundred thousand pounds, enongb to
supply all of southwestern Georgia.
And practically the last bag of this
immense shipment, was cold yesterday

The entire territorr of the Whitley
Groeery Co. was thns covered.
The company bought this salt six
months ago ere the ealt combine or
trust, was formed, and is thereby in
position to sell at very close prioes and
at the same time make a email profit.

MORMON ELDERS VISIT SUMTER.
Two Preachers Hold Bervice in Coun
try Yesterday.
Two members of the Mormon faith,
elders both, struck Sumter county yes
terday and will probably reaoh Ameri
oua today. They held services out in
the country near DeSoto, and doubt
less received a respectful hearing.
They took dinner at the home of a
prominent farmer who, however, com
manded that they leave none of their
literature about his premises. The
elders may come here today.
Let the authorities start the artesian
well jnst as soon as possible. Tne nipe
water is good, bat with many people
here nothing can take the place of the
sparkling artesian water.
The country cur that comes to town
