The Sumter County Teachers’ Insti

Following him came the response,
made by J. T. Price of Leslie. These
preliminaries dispensed with, Profs.
John N. Rogers and Ernest Childs,
conductors for the institute, put the i
harness on, and everything is moving '
along as nicely as one ever saw. r
The hospitality of the Plains people j
has no bounds, and on this occasion it
takes in the teachers of Sumter county

TARVER IN THE COUNTY JAIL
Young Lad is indicted on Charge of
Murder.
Grady Tarver, the young lad of ten
der years who, at a ball game here
some time since struck his young friend
and chum, Gus Oliver, with a baseball
bat, death resulting soon thereafter,
has been indicted by the grand jury,
and will thus be tried in a few days.
The indictment, as returned by the
grand jury, charges murder.
Immediately upon the return of the
indictment the lad, who has been out
upon bond since the most nnfortnnate
homicide, was surrendered to Sheriff'
Bell and is now in jail.
Some little surprise was expressed at
the finding'of the true bill, and upon [
so grave a charge.
The details of the fatal ball game are
well remembered. Tne two'boys, i
young Oliver and Tarver, ohums and ,
school companions, were there togeth
er. There was no animosity, do ill ,
will, but in a moment of temporary j
passion the blow was delivered.
Such fights are of frequent occurrence
among schoolboys. i
At the commitment trial Judge Crisp I
placed young Tarver under bond of
SI,OOO, which was readily given by j
Messrs. N. A. Ray, G. M. Eldridgeand j
T. B. Hooks. Since then young Tarver
has had his freedom. Than came the
bill for murder yesterday.
The little fellow, as stated, is now in *
jail, and some day this week, or next,
will be tried for his life on the terrible <
charge of murder. j

WARM WEATHER HELPS
Get Rid of Your Catarrh by Using
Hyomei Now,
Everyone who has catarrh should take
advantage of the warm weather to get
rid of this annoying and distressing dis
ease. The right treatment, faithfully
followed, in May or June, will benefit
much more quickly than in the Winter
and oarly Spring.
Do not try to cure catarrh of the head
and throat by taking drugs into the
stomach. It cannot be cured in that
manner. The only way in which this
too common disease can be cured Is
through a direct application of Hyomei
that will kill the germs of catarrh and
preent their growth.
The firs', days use of Hyomei will
show a decided improvement, and in a
short time, especially if used at this
eeascn of the year, there will be no
further trouble from caatrrh.
You take no risk in buying Hyomei.
The complete outfit costs but one dol
lar, and if after using you can sav that
the treatment has not helped you, J. G.
Dodson will return your money.
