ATLANTA M 0 REMEDY
THIS GLARING EVIL
Atlanta, Dec 22. —Atlanta has plead
ed guilty to the charge which, comes,
strange to say, from people of other
Georgia cities, that the street-numbers
here are topsy-turvey, and that the
houses and stores are so unntelligent
ly numbered at present that strangers
find themselves in a wilderness.
Streets start with any old number
and run helter-skelter, apparently ev
ery house-rolder choses the number
that suits him best.
For instance, No. 446 Marietta street
ought to be about four blocks from
Five points. Instead, if you started to
walk there, you would think it was
four miles.
