SEIZE HOARDED PEAS;

PHILADELPHIA, February 2.—The
United States Food Administration to
day seized 21,000 can of peas, hoarded
by Zuckerman & Katz in an old battle
shack. They will be sold by Jay
Cook, the federal food administrator
for Philadelphia, and the proceeds
turned over to the Red Cross. Zuck*

Kassels Back From Eastern Markets*
B. S. Kassels, who has been absent
from the city visiting the eastern
markets, has returned home, bring
ing with him his little granddaughter,
Blanche Kimmelman, of Newark, N.
J., who will spend the spring and sum
mer season here. Mr. Kassels pur
chased a fine stock of millienry and
other merchandise for his store and
will tell the people through the col
umns of the Times-Recorder.
Purchases J. D. Maffett Stock*
H. Silver, a prominent merchant of
Columbus, is now in Americus and an
nounces that he has purchased the J.
D. Maffett stock of good, on Lamar
street. Mr. Silver states he will carry
a select line of stock at all times. He
will come to Americus to live, and
will move here shortly.
New Sermons Are Discovered.
AMSTERDAM. February 2—A series
of hiteherto unknown sermons of St.
Augustine have been discovered, Ger
man papers, at Wolfenbuttel Bruns
wick, by Father Germain Morin, a Bel
gian Benedictine monk.

duction, “Jack and Jill which is to be
screened at the Alcazar on Monday.
This is .not a childs play, although
the kiddies will love it. It is one of
the wholesomest, cheeriest little
comedy-dramas for grown-ups in which
the two have worked—which is say
ing a great deal.
