At the Shrine of Fashion!
Some people scoff at Fash
ion ; others are slavish in their
obedience to her mandates.
Both go to extremes. There
was a philosopher who lived
in a tub, and he was proud of
his residence. He may have
been right, but it is true all the
, sime, that personal appearance
, counts for a good deal, and it’s
just as well to look well if you
can. There never is anything
the matter with the personal
appearance of the man who
makes his selections from my
stock of Men’s Fine Furnish
ings. It is a conceded fact
that The Haberdashery stands
at the head of the list on
Stylish Neckwear, Fine Dress
Shirts, Correct Shapes in
Hats, and everything else
that goes to make up the at
tire of a well-dressed gentle
man. A glance at this stock
will bring to your notice more
chances for wise, judicious and
economical purchases than
can begin to enumerate, and
yon are hereby extended a per
sonal and pressing invitation
to call.
Yours to command,
W. D. BAILEY
THE POPULAR HABERDASHER.

with spectators anxious to seethe fata

tbe fray.

Other national leaders anxiously watched

Chairman Catching?, of tbn rains com-

the consideration of tbs nlrer blU. An
hour wan allowed to debate tbe order.
Soon such confusion reigned that tbs

tory began.
Several democratic landers who fevered
free ailrev per as. gave an a reason for

not become a law, that It would divide
tbe party and Imperil democratic ane-
cess, that It would smbamaa tbs candi
dates, that It would put a doubtful com
structlonon tbn democratic platform,
that It would do tbs people no Immedi
ate good, and that It would Impede tbn
progress of tbs party that stands for tbe
people's Interests. Mr. Patterson, of
see, always n free silver man.
pleaded that silver might stand aside
that the two parties might fight their
battle on plainer I as ties.
Ha defined tbe Issnet as public coon
omy, tbe tariff, freedom of elections,
relentless opposition to foroe bills, and
tha preservation of publio office as a
public trust
Tho republicans represented one aide
of these Issnet, tbe democrats tbo other.
On these laauaa let 'the country decide
between them.
Mr. Iteed, speaking for tbe republi
cans, congratulated tho democrats on
repentlflg of their former folly la advo
cating free silver, but claimed for the
republicans all tbs credit for opposition
to tbe bill. He eapraeeed grant eon-I
tempt for those who favbred depreciated |
currency for Individual gain end that
they might pay their dabls In cheaper
money than that In nan when they con
tracted them.
Judge Culberson, of Texan, dnnoml*
tied the money question a great battle
between the people and tbe monopollen
He favored free diver, and charged
that It did not mean a depreciation of
tbn currency., He maintained that tbn
dnmocrncy nlwnjrn favored sound car-
reney, and that free silver came nadir
that band.
