PATARRH •:
V IN CHILDREN
For over two years my little Ctrl's life
was made miserable by a ease of Catarrh.
The discharge from the nose was lar^e,
constant and very offensive. Her eys
became inflamed, the lids swollen and
very painful. After trying various reme
dies, I cave hertf.S. ■ The first lit

disease, but the symptoms soon abati d,
and in a short time sne was cured.

WX. A. n.uttil,. II. I)..Staunton. Vlrslnla i« said that Mr. Fouche naked the |>rivi-
Irge of running the can until the Drat of
Atigtut, but waa not allowed to run
them even one day more. lie atepped
down and out, and yesterday morning
bad no more to do with the road than
any private citizen.
Mr. Kenny left for Florida the night
the trade waa made, and left lion. J. 11.
Felder in charge of the company'* prop
erty.
Everybody In Americua it familiar
with this lait attempt to operate the
road. Mr. Fouche made a contract with
the Thomton-Ilouiton company to rent
the road, and came hero prepared to
fultlll hi* part. The company did not
como up to It* contract, but Mr. Foucho
began operating anyhow, protesting, at
tho same lime, thnt ho was duo tho com
pany nothing until tho rond wan do-
livored to him according to contract,
A few days ago Mr. Kenny came down
from lloiton and wanted Mr. Fouche to
sign a new contract, which he promptly
refuicd to do. The old contract was of
such a nature aa nut to please tho owners
of the property, and they wanted to got
rid of IL lleing under a |1,0U0 bond,
they could only get out of the trade by
purchasing back the contract which, aa
stated.above, they did night before laat.
Mr. Fouche state* that he it now out,
and doesn't expect to have anything
more to do with tho road. lie ha* nut
yet determined upon bis course, hut says
he’s out, and out for good.
And now Americua la again without
street cars.
So often have the cart been started and
■topped, and to often havo the citizens
met with generosity and encouragement
every proportion of the company that
patience haa ceased to be a virtue. They
do not know the intention of tlie com
pany, but they do know that the cars are
not running.
I'ouibly tho company Intends to start
them again, but it doea not look that
way. Anyhow the people want to know
what they are going to ho about IL The
citizens are on a big disgust. They feel
that they have dooe more thau their
■hare for the road, and they are out of
patience with the owuera for again al
lowing the care to be Idle. For nearly
two yean they hare worried about it,
and have met every propoeltion made
them. This laat time they thought sure
ly all would run smoothly, and now that
It hasn't, they demand that the ownora
of the road do something with It.
Everybody wns sorry yeateiday, and
nearly everybody waa indignant. They
have treated tho Th-'tsv-n-llouaton
Company faitly, and want to be fair
with them now, but they want street
cant to run iu Americua and they are
going to have IL
Mr. Ii. II. .losscy put tho matter in a
nutshell, lie said yesterday
“I am friendly to the Tbomsan-llous-
t in Company, and hope they will oiter
ate the car*. I havo helped them every
time when called upon iu 'he way of
purchasing^* certain number of tickets,
and In other ways. All I want iafor the
cars to run. I don't know anything
about the status of affairs at present,
hut we must ami shall have the cars and
If the Thomson-llouston Company will
not run them, 1 say make them take up
tlie track and carry It off. Tlie company
should be made to do one or the other
at once.”
Arthur ■„ Itylauder says compel the
company to operate the llne| or
take the track out of the way of the peo
ple.
C. A. Flicker: *‘l am uttcily dis
gusted with the whole business. Tlie
city council's duty Is to order the owners
to begin operating the mad within ten
days or have the track torn up and car
ried away."
W. E. Murphy: The Hue should eer-
talniy be operated or gotten out of the
way.
