Atlanta, Feb. 5,-^-On account of a
decree entered by Judge Newman ln
tho United States court yesterday, the
mines and property of the Creighton
Milling nnd Mining company, located
in Chcrokoe county, will, on March 3,
be sold to the highest bidder. This
action was based on a suit brought
by J. M. Patterson, of Pittsburg, Pa.,
a large stockholder In the concern and
also a small creditor. The Creighton
Milling and Mining company was In
corporated under the laws of Ken
tucky and was capitalized at $800,000,
The object of the concern was to mine
gold and expensive machinery was In-
stalled for that purpose. Among the
properties of the company are valm
able water rights and electric plant
and a stamping mill.
In his order of sale. Judge New
man named numerous small creditors
■who are to be given priority In the
settlement of claims. The largest
creditors of the company aro the ex
ecutors of Aaron French. $169,924.63
J. M. Patterson. $2,348.44; and P. N.
French, $2,800. Brutus J. Clay was
named as commissioner of saia
