Association it wUI be interesting ' to
the peopto of Amerlcu, to note the
general endorsement of the Y. M. C. A.
movomont throughout the country and
especially In Georgia and Florida.
This association la becoming eo
popular that a city la not considered
thoroughly up-to-dato unless it has a
well equipped Y. M. C. A.
Knoxville, Tenn., recently raised
170,034 which was $20,000 more than
was first asked from the pa rile.
Savannah has raised over $100,000
and will have one of the most hand
some Y. M. C. A. buildings in the
south.
In Jacksonville, Fla,, one matv Mr.
IV. Cummer, subecrloed $30,000,
and $80,000 has already been pledged
by elglitoo'n men. Jacksonville will
continue the campaign until about
$150,000 la pledged.
The small but thoroughly up-to-
date city ol aoutu Georgia, Wavcross,
has already raised $50,000 for a modem
M. C. A. building. And while
Americus has not yet done as well as
Waycross It la believed tho public
spirit of title growing cilv will not be
far behind In this movement.

The hotel park property was accep
ted yesterday by the Treasury 'Depart
ment at Washington as the alte of the
Fedoral building to be erected In
Americus, and It la now confldenUy
expected that building operations will
be entered upon within the next few
weeks.
Thus, tho momentous question la
settled, and Americas Is pleased.
Information of the action of the De
partment In accepting the hotel park
property was convoyed in a telegram
from Congressman K. II. Lewis, who
has given the matter much attention.
The site thua selected Is probably the
most advantageous In Americas. It
