follows:
The books of tbe Clerk of the Super
lor Court are kept In a business like
manner with extremo neatness, and
accuracy; reflecting credit upon George
K. Thornton the worthy and competent
occupant.
Ordinary 'a Books.
There has been but little tiuslnoss in
this office since last report. The books
are in good condition and of easy refer
ence and In our opinion solvent bonds
are required in said office as the law
directs.
There Is no money In said office to be
accounted for to tbe public.
Sheriff's Books
The books of this office are correctly
kept so far as we are able to judge
proper entries are made as directed by
law, and sufficient bond taken where
required. The sheriff reports that he
has in his possession belonging to the
County, the sum of *393.14 and that this
Is all of the money received by him be
longing to the county since October
term of court 1906.

district for J. P. and X. P. and appoint
J. W. A. Hawkins from the 978, C. K.
Ivey from I he 1105, 'll. M. Marshall
fiom the 802, to fill these vacancies.

proper entries having been made as to
disposition of cases and that the cost
charges are as allowod by law.

The .Superintendent Mr. U, M. Pur
vis reports that there was made on the
farm last year as follows:
Two bales of cotton weighing sumo
thing over one thousand pounds. Four
hundred bushels of com, tbirty-fiv
hundred bundles of fodder, one thotiS'
and pounds of field peas, twenty-five
bushels or potatoes, seventeen gallons
of syrup, two thousand stalks of seed
cane, and killed six hundred pounds Of

We recommend that the steps

white wased on tho inside. Wefnrthor
recommend that tbe Countv Commls-
aioners do not bnild the proposed fire
proof building as advertised for the
safe keeping of tho County recorda but
recommend in lieu o' this building
that they build a new brick Jail
adequate tor the^necds of our county.
Pension Ro'l.
We have carefully examined the
Pension Roll and in our opinion no
pensioners are drawing that am not
entitled under th law.
Roads and Bridges./
We find Pie roads of the county in
fair condition except that some parties
are plouglng too near tho road anti we
call the attention of the Road Commis
sioners to look after this. Alto the Rail,
road creasing at Ponder's Mill 'a in bad
order and wo recommend that tbe Road
Commlssionora havo the Railroad
authorities to have the same put In
good order at once. We find the bridges
in good order except for slight repairs
needed. Wo appoint J.R.Stapleton and
Jaa. P. Walker aa Financial Commit
tee for tho ensuing year and reoom-
mend that they be paid three dollars s
day for their services.
