BISHOP ON THE RAGE QUESTION
Holds Question Gan Only Be Settled
by Complete Sequestration.
Bishop W. M. Brown of Episcopal
diocese of Arkansas, has written a book
• on "The Crucial Race Question," cover.
Ingithe race problem from tbe social,po.
litical land religious viewpoint. The
^author undertakes to establish tbe
following assumptions:
1. No race can amount to anything
- without self government.
2. The only realm In which the negro
can hope to govern himself Is that of
religion.
: 8. Under present conditions tbe
^• American negro is degenerating, in
stead of advancing toward civilization.
4. The Afro-American can only be
saved utter ruin and extinction by
tho bridging of the evor-widening and
deepening gulf which now exists be.

6. This necessary bridging can not bo
dono without tbe complete drawing of
the color line around the social, polltl-
1 and religious realms.

Thus tor there has been but one
totality here.
Typhoid fever comes from drinking
polluted water or milk or eating pol-
luted food. Milk law In cities are rap
Idly reducing the danger of infection
to a minimum, and pure bottled water
is always procurable.
Typhoid fever is not prominent in
the list of total diseases. The percent
age of totalities Is small, but the dis
ease entails upon the patient a long
period of critical Illness, requires care
ful nursing and is a heavy expense to
every family it viaits.
Therefore in the meantime it be
hooves each individual to guard so tor
as possible against drinking water or
milk of questionable purity. It
went next, both well filled with lum
ber, The planing mills were located
very near tbe dry kilns but were sav
ed. The loss is estimated at $100,000,
with only a small insurance. Tbe plant
will probably be rebuilt at once.
