twenty in number, will be massed at
some designated point and then pro
ceeded over a marked course through

mer, and as new antos are being
constantly added to those already op
erated here the feature ere long will
become'one of greatest local interest.
Five new and handsome automobiles
will be brought to Americus next

AMERICUS READY
Andersonville Owes Much
to Progressive Citizen.
AndersonvIUe, Ga., July 15.—(Spe*
clal)—The telephone line from An-
dersonville to Americus will be
completed within the next two or
threcWays. This lineals being built
by Dr. T. P. Bel!, of this city, and
will connect at Americus with the
Southern Bell Telephone Co. This
line extends several miles through the
country around here, and there are
already fifteen or twenty subscribers,
who have their phones in and sev
eral more waiting for them to be
put In. Andersonvllle residents are
all very proud of the telephones and
certainly appreciate the good work
done by Da. Belt in building this
line.
Judge Fite, of the Caftersvlile cir
cuit, has charged the grand Juy
that the person who gives a boy a
match to light a cigarette Is as guilty
as the man who funlshes the youth
with tobacco or paper, and should
be Indicted accordingly. Moral:
carry no matches.

PLAINS. GA., July 16.—There has
been a lull in social affairs here
during the last few days, on account
of the departure of many visitors.
Misses Annie Bell Harper and Evelyn
Duffey, of Jonesboro, Lillian Max
well and Gladys Crawford, of Lex
ington. and I.uclle Cochran, of
Barnesville, left Tuesday, after a
delightful stay of two weeks wIUi
Miss Winona Evans. These young
ladies by their charming manners
won many friends during their stay
here, who regret their departure.
A delightful occasion of the past
week was the barbecue given by Mr.
Jack Slappey at the home of his
mother, Mrs. R. B. Evans, in honor of
Miss Evans house party.
A number of young people, Includ
ing Miss Evans’ house party, visited
in Americus Monday, and that even
ing they were guests of Messrs. Mott,
Rylander and Bynum, at a six o'clock
dinner at the Windsor Hotel. The
remainder of the evening was spent
pleasantly out at Prospect Park.
Mrs. Blake Harris and children, of
Friendship, were guests of Mrs. J. A.
McDonald Monday.
Miss Flora Belle and Christine In
gram, of Oglethorpe, have returned
home, after a pleasant visit to their
sister, Mrs. Clarence Roberts.
Mr. J. F. Cato is spending several
weeks pleasantly at White Sulphur
Springs, Fla.
Rev. J. B. Johnstone, of Dawson,
was the gnest of Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
McDonald Saturday.
Mrs. Samuel Hawkins, ot Preston,
is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. T. E.
Lunsford.
Misses Clara and Mattie Jeff
Knowles left Tuesday on an extended
visit to friends in Dothan, Ala.

Andersonvllle, Ga., July 16.—It is
'practically sure that Andersonvllle
will have a cotton warehouse at an
early date. The Directors met a
few days ago to make arrangements
to begin work at once.
Mrs. W. O. Easterlin who has been
very ill since June 1, is improving
rapidly. s \
Mr. Burrell L. Joiner will be in
Marietta for the next three > weeks
on business.
Mr. Fred T. Suber left last Friday
for Adairsvilie, where he will spend
some time.
Misses Ruth and Rebecca Hodges
went to Macon Tuesday to spend
a few weeks with relatives.
Misses Minnie B. Lowe of Beuna
Vista, returned home Monday after

Mr. Harry Morgan of Americus,
was here Tuesday on business.

decided to Jump out of the lot made
of pickets, one of them striking the
mule in the abdomed, causing It to
die in a few minutes. The mule was
valued at over |300.-
