Andersonviile, Ga., August 6.—Dr.
D. A. Bagley has disposed of his
property here. Mrs. Pink Smith, of
Americus, has purchased all the
property owner by Dr. Bagley and
will move here in a few days.
Mr. English and family have moved
into town from their nearby farm
Mr. English is living in the house
just vacated by Mrs. Mollie Smith.
Work on the new warehouse will
begin next week and the structure
will be completed in a short while.
Andersonviile has long been in need
of a good warehouse.
Our postmistress, Mrs. Gussie Join
er, Is showing her friends some very
line sweet potatoes, weighing over
one pound each, gathered from her
garden. She lias a splendid garden
and guests in her home are enjoying
many good tilings to eat.
Mrs. Farmer Park, of low. Is

Americus' fourth cotton bale of the

The third bale of cotton griwn in
Americus territory was received Tues
day by Mr. George B. Oliver, the
bale being grown by Mr. A. A. For
rest, of the Twenty-seventh district
The bale graded good 1 middling and
was weighed in at .485 pounds. The
cotton was in excellent condition, lie
ing comparatively free from green
ness.
Mr. Forrest brought in the first bale
which reached the _ Americus market,
the second coming from the neighbor
hood of Leesburg. From this time
Mr. Forrest wilt be able to pick cot
ton right along. Except for the rain
yesterday, he would have been able to
bring In another bale today. Before
the week is over he will have oue or
more additional bales ready for the
market.

The bid for supplying groceries for
the convict camp was awarded yester

Leslie, Ga., August 6.—Leslie's first
bale of cotton was ginned Wednesday
and was raised by Mr. F. H. Hines. -

turned home Tuesday from Atlanta,
where Mrs. Laramore has been visit
ing her mother, for some time.
Miss Mamie McArthur returned to
her home in Americus Monday, after
a short visit to Misses Mae and Florrie
Summertord.
Mrs. A. J. Kemp left Monday for
White Springs, Fla., where she will
spend several weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Amason are en
tertaining a little son at their home.
Several of the men here went fish
ing Tuesday and caught many fish.
Mr. G. R. Ferguson Is visiting rel
atives at Coleman and attending a
camp meeting at Tyner Springs.
Mr. Ben Manning, of I-ee county,
made a business trip to Leslie Wed
nesday morning.
