N. S. Gill.
The coming year the county pro
poses to raise a great deal of the hay
and corn it needs for its live stock
out on the county farm, the old poor
farm, about four miles from the city.
All of the fertilizers from the coun
ty stables will be used to enrich the
soil of the fields that are to be given
up to this purpose. Already a num
ber of loads have been carried from
the stable and placed in the fields.
Other loads will follow. By the use of
this natural fertilizer, and such arti
ficial fertilizers as may be needed In
addition, the soil can be brought to a
high state of fertility and made to
yield heavily of corn, oats and hay.
It Is the impression that the old
poor farm can be brought to a point
where It will go a long ways toward
supplying the county live stock with
its feed supplies. Some of the con
victs can be used to advantage in
the work on the farm, better than In
' the road work, and the county will
’ be setting an example of “living at
home” that may not be lost on others.
It is not yet known how large an
acreage will be put into feedstuffs
for the coming year, hut It Is prob
able that a considerable slice of the
farm will be worked to advantage.
With feedstuffs commanding such high
prices, and likely to continue to bring
fancy values. It is regarded as an eco
nomical step for the county to utilize
the land, the labor and the fertilizers
this way. The stables during the
course of a year will provide an enor
mous quantity of the richest fertilizers
that will do more to build up the soil
than the commercial fertilizers, and
great results may eventually be look
ed for from the county's operations
along this line.
There Is no way to cure Catarrh except to purify the blood, and thui
do away with the cause. The symptoms may be benefited by the use ol
washes, inhalations, sprays, medicated tobaccos, etc., and through the use
of such treatment catarrh sufferers receive temporary relief and comfort
External and local measures however cannot have any effect on the blood
and therefore their use alone Is of no real curative value. Catarrh is s
deep-seated blood disease, and comes as the result of catarrhal matter and
other impurities in the circulation. These morbid matters in the blood
cause an inflammatory and irritated condition of the mucous membrane or
tissue lining of the cavities of the body, producing an unhealthy secretion
ringing noises in the ears, stuffy feeling in the head and nose, headaches]
hoarseness, bronchial affections, watery eyes, etc. S. S. 8. is the best treat
ment for Catarrh because it is the greatest of all blood purifiers. This
medicine removes every particle of the catarrhal impurity from the circula
tion, making this vital fluid pure, fresh and healthy. Then the inflamed
membranes begin to heal, because they are nourished with pure, health ■
giving blood, every symptom disappears, and soon S. S. S. produces a period
cure. S. S. S. does not contain any habit-forming drugs, which really never
can cure Catarrh, but often ruin the health. Book on Catarrh and any
medical advice free. THE SWIFT SPECIFIC CO., ATLANTA, GA

Traction Engine Not Construed as
Freight Train.
Forbidden to drive a traction engine
on Sunday for the purpose of carrying
water to his stock, by order of tho
County Commissioners, a South Geor

Commission for relief. The objection
by the authorities was that a traction
engine so used was a freight train, and
freight trains could not bo run In
Georgia on Sunday.
It seems that the applicant for re
lief used his engine during the week
for hauling logs to his sawmill. On
Sunday ho used the engine to carry
water to his stock.
Chairman Hill looked up the decis
