Work has begun on a pretty cot
tage home for Mr. J. J. Dupree, on
Hancock avenue, Just south of Fur-
low street.
The new residence will be one
eftory In hqlght, and will conform
in style to a number of dwellings
that have recently been erected In
that section of the city, or are now
In course of construction.
From a broad piazza extending the
entire front and part way on one
side of the house a large living
room la entered, with an attractive
parlor at the side. To the rear of

The funeral of Mr. Elam Johnson,
who died in the fearful catastrophe
on the Georgia Southern railway on
Monday, was conducted yesterday
morning from the residence of his
father, Mr. S. R. Johnson, here. The
service of the Christian Science
church was read by two of its read
ers, Mr. Hannon )ond Sirs. Smith;
many friends attending the obsequies.

eral expenses of the late Mrs, Thomas
J. Black, of Americus, who died there
