yesterday.
The sheriff’s office and police de
partment are working upon the case
very effectively.
One of the men, it Is alleged, seized
hold of a young white girl and was
only beaten off by her cries and those
of her little brother, who saw the al
leged act.
It is said that the men approached
the house of the young girl, about 11
or 15 years of age, and asked for
drink of water. As she handed one of
the the dipper she states that he seized
her by the arms and offered to em
brace and kiss her, greatly frightening
the young lady.
The man. It is said, cursed her out
rageously, using the most Insulting
and abusive language, which the girl
told Sheriff Feagin she couldn’t
peat. She lives out upon the suburbs
here, and is an orphan.
It was for this offence the men were
arrested by the police, to whom in
formation was phoned.
As the police officers started to
make the arrest the men hurriedly
took papers from their pockets and
tore them Into small bits as though
to conceal their Identity, throwing the
torn papers upon the ground,
But Sheriff Feagin and Officer Tins
ley were not to be thus thwarted. The
bits of paper were all gathered to
gether, carefully sorted, pasted to ;-
gether in legible form, and from read
ing the several notes the officers
learned of “a woman In the case" and
other things as well.
Sheriff Feagin thinks he has a pair
of professionals and will hold them
accordingly.

Are You
Honest?
With your land when for the
sake of saving a few dollars
you use a fertilizer whose
only recommendation is its
analysis. It requires no spe

rials to analyses. The value
of a fertilizer lies in the ma
terials used, so as not to
over feed the plant at one
time and starve at another.
