ABOUT 2,000 BALES
ARE STILL CARRIED.
That Many Remain Unsold
in This Territory.
In the Amerlcns district It Is aald
that there are still about two thous
and bales of cotton untold.
Speaking of cotton affair* generally
party well acquainted with the
status of things throughout th's ter
ritory stated yesterday that his fig
ures showed still in the neighborhood
of two thousand bales to be disposed
of and shipped out
“There are, I am advised, seven
hundred bales at Richland,” aald ho,
''and five hundred at Buena Vista.
Over at Plains there are 200 and 100
at Ellaville. This makes 1,500 bales.
Then there are a lew hundred othera
scattered around.”
When this cotton will be sold and
sent off for consumption It Is hard
to say. It has only been a short tint,
since tbe stock at Amerlcns wai
cleaned np. Any day may brink
news that any one of tbe other point*
has seen its holdings taken.
Some holders of cotton still ami
anticipate a rise sufficient to offset
the loss incurred by carrying so long
and leave a margin of additional profit
But there are not absent those who
do not think anything will be gained
ythe holding policy.

THE RECORD.
States Life
The usual promptness with which all claims are settled by The
Southern States Life Insurance Company, is dire first, to its Afigness
and desire to assist the beneficiary in preparation of all nccessarv a-

their location, are denied to companies whose home offices are in dis
tant cities.
The above tells the story. Prompt payment of death claims proves the Insurance Company’s
itegrity. Policies were also carried by the insured in Eastern and other (Southern Companies,
