Bustling Little City Sends
Many Items.

.plains, Ga., Aug. 17.—One of the
most delightful parties of the sum
mer was that at which Miss Martha
Kendrick entertained Friday evening
at the beautiful country home of her
sister, Mrs. Howard Jennings. The
broad veranda, where the guests were
entertained was lovely with palms and
ferns artistically arranged here and
there. A proposal contest was enjoyed
by all. Late In the evening cream
with wafers was served. Eighteen
guests were present
Mr. Oscar Dean, of Savannah, spent
several days here this week, called
here on account of the serious .illness
of his brother, Mr. Ernest Dean.
Mr. Bd Clark came Saturday from
Ashburn to Visit relatives.
Mr. George Johnson and sister, Miss
Eunice, of Parrott, spent a part of this
week with Mrs. James Cook.
Misses Mattie Lewi^ Collins and
Marti'a Kendrick have gone for
week's visit to Mrs. Charlie Gammage
in Amarlcus.
Rev. J. M. Rustin and little daught'
