Electric Handle Fences.
There are electricians in Texas mak¬
ing a specialty of installing battery
outfits for charging barb-wire fences
with electricity. There are many
thousand miles of such fence in Texas
which serve to keep the cattle in
bounds, except in cases of a stampede,
when the pointed barbs are entirely
too mild. It has been found that sneb
fences charged with electricity will
stop the wildest stampede. It is also
contemplated to attach telephone
transmitters and receivers at conveni¬
ent paints to such electrified wire end
thus enable the “rounders” to be in
constant communication with ranebe
headquarters. As many of the ranch, s
are scores of square miles in area, the
utility of such use of electricity can
readily be seen.
