Both trials in the Blackman case,
so our wojrthy clerk qf the superior
court informs us, have cost the coun¬
ty all ot $2000. The defence in both
trials introduced no evidence in
Blackman’s behalf. The conclu¬

adhered forty-two time's. The neigh
borhood in which Elliott lives is at
present infested jivith mad dogs and
for that reason it is believed the bi¬
ting wqs done by a mad cat.

A Sure Cure lor Hog Cholera.
Mr. Bob Murray, one oj the most
reliable planters of Calhoun county
was in the city last Tuesday and
told of a cure for ^og cholera. Sev¬
eral years ago Mr. Murray’s hogs
were dylqg In large numbers with
cholera and he checked its ravages
by mixing with their food a moder¬
ate quantity of soda. A few days
ago cholera again attacked lji« hogs
ami lie Lost twelve in one day. He
at once began giving soda and has
not had a hog fo die since, While
in Dawson ‘ Mr. Murray bought
eight pound's of soda for his would hogs.
The remedy is simple and it
bo well to try it.—Dawson Journal.
