MARRIED IN COLUMBUS.
One of the prettiest weddings of the
season was that of Miss Margaret Drane
and Mr E B Hornady, which took place
at 8t Luke's church, Columbus,
day afternoon at 8 o'clock. The solemn
and impressive ceremony was performed
by Rev O G N McDonald assisted by Rev
R F Williamson. The church
handsomely decorated with palms
rare flowers, and filled with
and friends of the popular couple.

Dr Roach of Columbus t . who , passes
down the center aisle separated and
stood on either side. The bride came in
with her maid of honor Mias Lizzie
Leonard of Talbot ton and was met at
the altar by the groom with his best
man. Mr W P Hornady of Albany.
Soft, sweet strains of music mingled
with the voices of the ministers during
the ceremony. The bride wore a stvlien
and most becoming travelling suit of
brown and green cloth with fur trim
mings. while the bride's maids were
lovely in handsome street toilets. At
the elegant home of Mr and Mrs O C
Bullock a delightful lunch was served at
12 o’clock, Many beautiful and costly
presents attested the esteem m u’hich
they are held by numerous friends in
different parts < f the state. The bride
one of Buena Vista’s loveliest belles has
spent much of her time in Columbus
where she is a social favorite. The
groom is one of nature’s noblemen and
well deserves all the happiness that| can
come into his life. If we might choose
their way, no cloud should ever dim the
brightness of their sky, hut only the
calm sunshine of heaven should rest
forever like a henediction on their
clasped hands. Immediately after the
ceremony the bride and giooni left for
Florida, where they will spend some I
... of interest. After .
time visiting points
January the 20th they will beat home
to their friends at the residence of Mrs

The County Election.
The election for County officers yestes
day passed off very quietly in Schley
Co and with very gratifying resu.ts to
the democrats. A large vote was polled
at this precinct. The p pulist read the
"hand writing on the wall” early in the
day an il while they kept in line and
poiled their lull white vote it was very
evident that they had no hope of victory.

Cheering News.
The returns from all over the state tell
of great democratic gains, Several coun
ties that went wrong in the state election
have come hack to the fold. The colon d
people deserted the third party and voted
wi ii their old friends. In many Darts of
the state vote was light but the third
party lias had its death blow.
