A dog, which some supposed to
be mad, paid his respects to Jas¬
per and vicinity last Thursday
night and created quite a stir. He
fought and b«t several dogs of the
town, killed a pig and cut up gen¬
erally. He then went to Mrs.
Mann’s just below town, and laid
hold of a sboat as if he proposed
to have pork for breakfast. Before
he got the shoat killed John Mann
appeared upon the scene of action
and put an end to dog’s wild ca¬
reer. None of the dogs he bit
have showed any signs of hydro¬
phobia yet. Fortunately no per¬
son was bitten by him.

of the merchants began to

had been forged, and they began
