People who want to find a

from heat and sickness, inhale

should stop in Jasper.
This lovely little town is nestled
among the most beautiful and
picturesque mountains in North
Ga. and is high above the poison-
ons fogs and fever breeding mala-
ria. Although high enough to be
called a gem in the clouds, yet
she is surrounded by lofty peaks
whose hoary heads are brushed by
passing clouds ancl around whose
craggy shoulders the gleeful winds
have for centuries chased the gol-
den sun-beams, These historic
sentinels have withstood the on-
ward and steady tread of time for
ages and ages—perhaps since the
“morning stars sang together.”
Their shadowy bases have been
trodden by the wild beasts of - the
forests since time began; and from
the many clear, trickling streams
that gently gush from their bo¬
soms and go leaping and murmur¬
ing down the rocky steeps the
primeval tribes were wont to slake
their burning thirst.
The grandeur of these towering
peaks, the rugged beauty of the
laurel-eovered cliffs, the echoing
cadences of the rough gorges, the
supreme fragrance of the many
wild flowers and the ever-present
breezes never tail to enchant the
eye, ear and soul of the visitor.
We cannot hope,to describe this
glorious country, Our words fail
to paint the scelie correctly; but
let those who will come and see;
wc are sure that they will go away
well pleased with what they have
seen.
