ciety? There are enough boys and
girls in town to have an entertain¬

Mr. R. L. McClain has accepted a
position with tho Blue Ridge Marble
Co., as assistant bookkeeper. The
Blue Ridge Marble Co., lias again
gone to work to its full capacity.

It is a shame on the good peo¬
ple of Jasper that there is no larger
attendance of tbe Wednesday
night prayer meeting. If it was

competent well-read gintleman and
worthy of the patronage of the peo-

Mr. T. II. Breen left Thursday and
returned Friday afternoon with his
family and they now occupy the house
vacated by Mr. Henry Allred, We
welcome Mr. Bre«n and wife in our
midst and trust they will make Jasper
their future home.
Why can’t Jasper have a band?
There is some excellent talent here
and we could after a little practice
have one of the best nands of any
town in North Ga. Think of the
matter and let’s have a band.

It is getting time that ®ur citizens
were telling the people what offiice
they are wanting. In some other
counties they are announcing right
along. Gentlemen don’t be at all

Miss Mary Smith, aunt of Mr. 1 .
W. Beshers, of this place has at her
home in Forsyth county an orange
tree seven years old which she has
raised from a seed. The tree is about
ten feet high and is growing very
fast. Miss Smith removes it to her
flower pit every winter and transplant
it in the spring. She expects it to
bear this season
The Piedmost Republican, of this
place, has resumsd publication under
the management of Messrs. C. O Ha¬
ley and W. S. Clayton. Tne first
issue appeared yesterday and is a neat
paper, worthy of tne support of the
Republicans of North Georgia. We
extend to the management the right
hand of fellowship and the Republi¬
can will do much toward developing
the wonderful resources of this the

In our honest opinion there has

There was a small attendane at the
Band meeting last Saturday n iglit,
but all who were there were enthusi¬
astic on the subject. It was agreed

Sion Darnell, Jr. correspond with a

was also agreed that the boys of the
town should all solicit suscriptions.
