W. H. Mincy, of Woodstock,
became involved in a difficulty
with a young man at Woodstock a
few days ago and as a consequence
he is somewhat altered in the
make up of his face and head,
fhe way the narrative comes to us
is that a young man whose name
we did not learn, was paying at
tention to a young lady at Wood
stock, he living at some distance.
Mr. Mincy was also infatuated
with the young lady and sternley
objected to the other fellow and
passionately put in his claim to
the girl. Seeing he was ditanced
in the race he wrote his ■ rival a
letter that reflected very much on
the character of the girl. When
the young man received the letter
he boarded the tram for Wood
stock and set about to investigate
the charges made by Mincy. He
found sufficent proof to warrant
him in beleiving that Mincy had
slandered his lover. So he armed
himself with a pistol and sought
Mr. Mincv at his boarding house.
Mincy made a dive for the fellow
with a pair of knucks and was
demolished with the pistol in the
hands of his rival. His head was
cut in thirteen placee. Mincy
has the consolation that his
rival was hound over to court.
