Mountain Light Universalist
Unitarian Church will have as its
speaker Antoine Simmons, on
Sunday, January 10. Mr. Sim
mons has served as District Co
ordinator for the NAACP in
Whitefield County and is a re
spected speaker on the subject of
race relations. White liberals
have long been allies in the fight
for equality, but over the years
many have become complacent
in the struggle. The costs of al

high. Learn what we can do by
joining us for Mr. Simmons talk

NGMCF
All men are invited to break
fast, prayer, praise music and tes
timony. Men come out of their
churches and homes to form an
army for Christ. The North Geor
gia Mens Christian Fellowship
(NGMCF) members believe that
we are unified by the Cross
which removes the view by un
believers that Christians are di
vided. Jim Bowman will give a
testimony of Gods Grace in his
life and how that gift can be ex
perienced by all men. Saturday,
January 9, 8:30 -10 a.m., attend
and bring a guest to NGMCF
meeting at Georgia Mountains
Hospice 70 Caring Way. Join the
Army for Christ. Call 706-692-
7914 with any questions. See you
there.

God has a plan and purpose
for each of us. 2Timothy 1:6
Wherefore I put thee in remem
brance that thou stir up the gift
of God, which is in thee by the
putting on of my hands. There
is the gift of God in us - a spe
cial gift to accomplish His
work. We must seek the Lord
and find the gift that we are to
use to bring honor and glory to
Him. Sometimes the gift is ev
ident because a talent or ability
comes out in an individual dur
ing childhood. We are to en
courage each other to use these
abilities to please God.
Great things are accom
plished through the power of
God. Don’t fear that you will
fail or are not equipped to han
dle the gift He has given to you.
He is the source of our strength.
Also let everything you do be
done in love and with a sound
mind centered on Him. 2Timo-
thy 1:7 For God hath not given
us the spirit of fear; but of
power, and of love, and of a
sound mind.
This year my prayer for each
of us is that we will depend on
God to show us the things He
wants us to accomplish in His
name. May you be blessed by
reading and living out His
Word.

he Bible is a history of many families... their good times and bad
times. Our earthly families experience both; as generations come
and go we will always have occasions when we need reassurance and
guidance. Don’t wait for the bad times. Be prepared. A relationship
with our heavenly Father will help us through all kinds of times.
Join the family of God and worship each week.
