LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports com
pleted by Lamar deputies during the period March
10-16, 2021.
On March 10, Sgt. Wayman Henson was dispatched
to a home on Old Hwy. 41 where a female juvenile
had cut her wrist. The mother said the teenager had
been unruly lately. The girl had been suspended from
school for fighting another female. The injured female
was taken to Spalding Regional.
On March 10, Sgt. Henson was patrolling when
he spotted a red Chevy S-10 pickup with mud and
dirt obscuring the tag and tail lights. He stopped the
truck on MLK Bypass near Gordon Road. The driver,
25-year-old Anthony C. Walker, did not have his
license. A check revealed it was expired. A passenger
in the truck, 32-year-old Quentin M. Foster, had active
warrants here.
Henson detected the odor of marijuana and, during
a pat down, found a silver grinder in Foster’s pocket.
Walker was on probation for narcotics and the truck
was searched and more marijuana found along with
10 tramadol pills in an unmarked pill bottle.
Walker went to jail charged with possession of
marijuana, expired license, no license on person, tail
light violation and drugs not in original container.
Foster went to jail for the active warrant. The truck
was turned over to Madison Horn.
On March 10, Dep. William Holt met with a woman
whose unemployment check stopped coming. It
turned out her Social Security number was being
fraudulently used in Ohio.
On March 11, Dep. Anthony Redding was monitor
ing traffic on Ga. Hwy. 7 northbound when he clocked
a U-Haul truck running 74 m.p.h. in a 60 m.p.h. zone
and stopped it. The driver, 33-year-old Kent T. Mann,
did not have his license on him. While questioning
the female passenger, 20-year-old Ashlyn M. Smith,
Redding detected the odor of marijuana and Smith
turned over three cigars with marijuana in them.
Redding was about to search the vehicle when
Mann warned him there was a used syringe in the
driver’s door and that he had just shot up. Under the
driver’s seat was a blue book bag containing a maga
zine for a .40 cal. handgun.
The search turned up a scale with meth residue on
it, a large number of lottery tickets, more syringes in
a handbag and more meth-loaded syringes in a black
bag. Both Mann and Smith were cuffed and asked
if they had more drugs on them. They refused to
answer.
At the jail, a dollar bill containing meth was found
in Smith’s bra and three baggies of meth were found
MAGISTRATE REPORT

the Magsitrate Court issued:
27 criminal warrants

12 first appearance/bond hearings
in her shoe. Charges included a super speeder viola
tion, possession of meth and crossing guard lines
with drugs.
On March 11, Sgt. Henson was monitoring traffic
on High Falls Road when he clocked a car at 60 m.p.h.
and stopped it. He detected the odor of marijuana
on the driver, 17-year-old Richard H. Sawyer, and his
passenger, 21-year-old Dylan D. Danser. When ques
tioned, both denied knowledge of marijuana in the
vehicle.
Due to the odor, both were cuffed as the car was
searched. Two bags of marijuana were located as
were a bottle with marijuana shake and a grinder.
After the marijuana was weighed, Danser was charged
with possession of marijuana and possession of drug
related objects. Sawyer was charged with possession
of marijuana, possession of drug related objects and a
super speeder violation.
On March 12, Dep. Barclay Banta was dispatched
to a home at 267 Jones Road where he met with Shane
Reece who said Ashley Reece was at his home earlier
that day but not there when he got back. Also missing
were a Glock .40 cal handgun and a bottle of percocet.
Ashley Reece is on probation and reports in
Barnesville. Shane Reece was referred to magistrate
court.
On March 14, Sgt. Henson was running radar on
Hwy. 36 East when he clocked a Chevy Malibu run
ning 97 m.p.h. in a 55 m.p.h. zone. He stopped it at
Cole Forest at 7:35 a.m. The driver, 19-year-old Uzziah
D. Weems, was cuffed. Henson detected the odor of
marijuana and Weems admitted he and a friend had
smoked marijuana in the car the night before.
A cup with a top and a straw in the console con
tained alcohol. Weems went to jail charged with a
super speeder violation and reckless driving. He was
cited for underage possession of alcohol. The vehicle
was turned over to its owner.
On March 14, Sgt. Henson was dispatched to 159
Possum Trot Road where a man reported a missing
trail camera. He had photos of a male on a dirt bike
from a different camera. Henson recognized the man
on the bike as Carlton Piper, 23.
Piper was located at 280 Norris Road. He admitted
cutting across the property on the way to a friend’s
house but claimed no knowledge of the missing cam
era. He was issued a criminal trespass notification.
On March 14, Dep. Destiny Valenzuela was dis
