LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period April
14-20, 2021.
On April 14, Dep. Coleman Conner responded to a
home at 395 Johnstonville Road where a man report
ed a missing firearms permit card.
On April 15, Dep. Destiny Valenzuela worked a
death notice call at a home at 2021 Hwy. 36 East.
Vaneta Gibbs had died en route to the hospital. The
scene was turned over to the coroner.
On April 15, just before 1 a.m., Dep. Justyn Weaver
observed an SUV on Hwy. 36 with no tag light and
a busted tail light and stopped it. Upon approach,
he detected the odor of marijuana and summoned
backup. The driver was identified as Reginald D. Tate,
26. The passenger was Devin Anderson.
Tate said there was no marijuana in the vehicle
but they had smoked some earlier while in the SUV.
Anderson turned over a small amount of marijuana.
During a probable cause search, Weaver located a
pink tube under the driver’s seat that contained two
bags of marijuana and three pills wrapped in toilet
paper.
Tate went to jail charged with a tag light violation,
possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule 11
controlled substance and drugs not in original con
tainer. The vehicle was turned over to Anderson who
was cited for possession of marijuana and not having
a three year old properly secured in the vehicle.
On April 15, Sgt. Michael Brayton was patrolling
1-75 when he spotted an erratically driven vehicle and
stopped it. The driver was identified as Khari S. Har
ris, 25. The passenger was Victavius M. Holland, 39.
Brayton detected the odor of marijuana and spotted
loose marijuana on Holland’s shirt. It appeared he
was in the process of eating a quantity of pot and he
would not speak.
Both were removed from the truck and backup
summoned. Once told a probable cause search would
be done, Holland admitted there was more marijuana
in the truck. There was also a firearm in the waist
band of Holland’s pants. The pair said they were go
ing to a business Holland owns in Barnesville.
Sgt. Brandon Goins arrived and they found two
plastic containers in a tan book bag. These contained
16, one-ounce bags of weed. There were also scales
and boxes of plastic baggies. The truck was impound
ed and a later, more thorough search at the sheriff’s
office turned up five MDMA tablets in a briefcase
belonging to Holland.
Holland was arrested for possession of a firearm
during the commission of a felony, possession of mar
ijuana and possession of amphetamine. Harris was
charged with possession of marijuana and possession
of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
On April 16, Dep. Bossie Davis worked a domes
tic dispute at a home on Silver Dollar Road. A man
reported his wife had been drinking, was throwing
things and set a small fire in the home.
On April 17, Dep. William Holt was dispatched to
513 Trice Rd. where debris from a tow truck hauling a
vehicle had struck another vehicle.
On April 17, Dep. Holt was dispatched to a home
at 113 Church St. where a woman was reportedly
screaming. A male showed Holt a video of marijuana
plants growing in a tent in his sister’s room. Seeds
were found and the odor of marijuana detected. Tero-
drick D. Grier, 31, turned over a small amount of pot
and was cited for possession.
Due to the domestic disturbance, the parties were
separated.
On April 19, Dep. Anthony Redding was dis
patched to a home on Reeves Road regarding another
domestic dispute. He found an intoxicated female in
the front yard with a split lip. She claimed her boy
friend hit her with a cocktail can.
