NOTICE OF SEIZURE OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §
9-16-1 et. seq., any party
claiming an interest in the
following property is hereby
notified that the following
property was seized by the
undersigned agency in La
mar County, Georgia: TWO
THOUSAND, ONE-HUN
DRED, THIRTY-FIVE DOL
LARS ($2,135.00) IN UNITED
STATES CURRENCY.
Conduct giving such
rise to said seizure was as
follows: On March 31, 2021,
deputies with the Lamar
County Sheriff’s Office
(LCSO) executed a search
warrant at the residence
of Aurelio “Henry” Abreu,
located at 123 Stafford
Avenue in Barnesville,
Georgia. The residence is
in Lamar County, Georgia.
The search warrant was
procured as a result of an
investigation that began in
December of 2020. A confi
dential and reliable infor
mant had indicated to Sgt.
Keith Kendrick of the LCSO
that Mr. Abreu was selling
controlled substances from
the residence on Stafford
Avenue. A controlled pur
chase of methamphetamine
took place on December 11,
2020. Subsequently, multiple
individuals informed Sgt.
Kendrick of Mr. Abreu’s
drug transactions. When
the search warrant was
served on March 31, 2021,
an arrest of Mr. Abreu was
attempted, however, Mr.
Abreu ingested a quantity of
methamphetamine, which
required him to be admitted
to the hospital. The search
of the residence proceeded
and drug paraphernalia, fire
arms, along with quantities
of marijuana and metham
phetamine were found. Ad
ditionally, a large amount of
United States currency was
found both on Mr. Abreu
and between a mattress and
box springs in the bedroom
of the residence. Before
leaving the residence to be
admitted to the hospital,
Mr. Abreu told Sgt. Ken
drick that he used to sell
methamphetamine and that
there was “a little bit” of
methamphetamine inside
of his residence. The cur
rency was ultimately seized
by Sgt. Kendrick in Lamar
County on March 31, 2021.
The Defendant was charged
with Possession of Meth
amphetamine with Intent
to Distribute, Possession of
Methamphetamine, Tamper
ing with Evidence, Posses

NOTICE OF SEIZURE OF
PERSONAL PROPERTY
Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §
9-16-1 et. seq., any party
claiming an interest in the
following property is hereby
notified that the following
property was seized by
the undersigned agency
in Lamar County, Georgia:
TWENTY-ONE THOUSAND,
FIVE HUNDRED FORTY NINE
DOLLARS ($21,549.00) IN
UNITED STATES CURRENCY.
Conduct giving such rise
to said seizure was as fol
lows: On May 18, 2021, Sgt.
Mike Brayton of the Lamar
County Sheriff’s Office was
patrolling Interstate 75
north bound in Lamar Coun
ty, Georgia. He encountered
a vehicle driven by Derrick
Antione Head, who Sgt.
Brayton witnessed using
his hand-held phone while
driving. He also witnessed
the vehicle traveling in and
out of lanes of traffic as Mr.
Head spoke on his phone. A
traffic stop then took place.
While speaking with Mr.
Head, Sgt. Brayton could
smell the odor of marijuana
coming from inside of the
vehicle. Mr. Head indicated
that he was returning to
Detroit, Michigan, after
traveling to Jacksonville,
Florida. He stated that he
drove the more than 1,000
mile distance to visit his
grandmother and that his
visit with his grandmother
lasted approximately 10-15
minutes. He then got back in
his car for the return trip to
Detroit. Sgt. Brayton asked
Mr. Head if his vehicle had
marijuana inside and Mr.
Head replied that he had
about fifteen (15) pounds
of marijuana and about
$20,000.00 in cash. Sgt. Bray
ton conducted a probable
cause search of the vehicle
which produced $21,549.00
from Mr. Head’s person and
also from a bag on the front
passenger side floor board.
The cash was packaged in
banded bundles consistent
with that used in drug trans
actions. The search also
produced a large amount of
suspected marijuana from
the trunk of the vehicle and
also from the bag where
the cash was found. Mr.
Head stated that he drove
down from Detroit with the
marijuana to sell it along the
way to make some money
while he traveled. The prop
erty was ultimately seized
by Sgt. Brayton in Lamar
County on May 18, 2021. Mr.
Head was charged with Pos
session of Marijuana with
Intent to Distribute.

erty are DERRICK ANTIONE
