KAY S. PEDROTTI / THE HERALD GAZETTE
Summer readers got to see a Patagonian Mara, which has a
very short tail and resembles a jackrabbit with longer legs.
Robin Pressley of Animal Adventures of Georgia shows a
summer reading club member a red-footed tortoise and gives
her a chance to touch it.
Summer readers learn about animal tails, tales
Young readers at
Barnesville-Lamar
County Library learned
some tales about vari
ous animals’ tails from
Robin Pressley of Animal
Adventures of Georgia
during a recent summer
reading club program.
Students learned about
reptiles, amphibians and
other animals and were
even allowed to pet many
of them. The animal tails
they learned about dur
ing the program included
the American alligator,
red-footed tortoise,
yellow-bellied slider, box
turtle, African hedgehog,
lionhead bunny, the
Madagascar hissing cock
roach, a green iguana and
a blue iguana.
