bring back
Summer
Sizzle July
24. It will
begin with
a Cruise-ln antique car
show in the afternoon at
the United Bank parking
lot.
That evening the
spotlight moves to Ritz
Park for the
first concert
there in
some time
featuring
Caleb and
the Holliday
Trouba
dours.
Music begins at 7 p.m.
Admission is $10. Kids 10
and under get in free.

sentences criminals

Lamar superior court
July 6 with Judge Tommy
Wilson presiding.
Juanita Marie Parrish,
forgery and burglary:
pleaded guilty with
sentencing delayed until
Sept. 7.
Quintavious Keyon
Boyd, forgery: 12 months
probation, $500 fine plus
surcharges.
Calvary Lee Akins,
theft by taking: five years
probation, $500 fine, ban
ished from circuit.
Jessica Lynn McAnelly,
sale of cocaine: 10
months in jail, 15 years
probation, $4000 fine
plus surcharges.
Brandon Tubyius
Greene, felony posses
sion of marijuana: five
years probation, $500
fine and 80 hours com
munity service.
Kareem Isiah Mat-
tison, theft by receiving
stolen property, sus
pended license, fleeing
and attempting to elude,
possession of a firearm
by a convicted felon,
following too close and
reckless driving: failed to
appear, bench warrant
issued.
John Gregory Tied-
man, DU1: 12 months
probation, DU1 school,
$1000 fine and 30 days
community service.
Timothy A. Bearley,
possession of meth with
intent to distribute: 10
years in prison, 10 years
probation and $1000 fine.
John Ferguson, aggra
vated battery: revoked
four years probation.
Torey Washington,
possession of cocaine: 15
years probation, $7,500
fine.
Blackmon earns faculty honors at GT
The following students earned the distinction of
Faculty Honors for Spring 2021 at the Georgia In
stitute of Technology. This designation is awarded
to undergraduate students who have earned a 4.0
academic average for the semester.
Elizabeth Blackmon of Barnesville earned the
honor.

Gordon Grammar School reunion is Oct. 23
Alumni of the old Gordon Grammar School are planning a reunion which will be held Saturday, Oct. 23. Former students and
surviving faculty and staff are urged to attend.
A similar event held in May, 2015 was a huge success. Those interested should e-mail their contact information to
