The Lamar County
Trojans (3-2, 0-1) hung
with #8 Washington

cost them any shot at an

of the first period before

26-yard field goal to take
a 3-0 lead.
With only 21 seconds

WACO took advan
tage, adding a score and
a two-point conversion
with 1:16 left in the half
to make it 18-7.
On Lamar’s ensuing
possession, Devin Bate
man broke a nice run
down the sidelines but
a Hawk defender ripped
the ball from his hands
and scored with just two
seconds left in the half.
The PAT was good and LC
found itself down 25-7.
At the 8:10 mark of the
third quarter, the Hawks
broke off a 63-yard TD
run. The PAT made it
32-7.
Freshman running
back Qua Hughley

Altman. Hughley got a
nine-yard TD run to cut it
to 32-13. Lamar’s PAT was
blocked.
WACO answered with a
13-yard score and it was
39-12 at the end of the
third period. The visitors
got another touchdown
on a 56-yard run midway
through the final period
to make it 46-13.
As time ran down,
Altman broke loose on a
12-yard TD run. Moore’s
PAT accounted for the
final margin of 46-20.
The Hawks rushed for
358 yards but LC had a
good night running the
ball as well.
Allen ran for 114 yards
on 10 carries. Altman
had 59 yards on nine
carries and Hughley had
55 yards on 15 carries.
Donavan Sanford had 64
yards on seven carries.
