The Lamar County
Trojans (4-2, 1-1) ruined
homecoming for the
Southwest Patriots Fri
day night, rolling up 412
yards of total offense in
a 62-0 rout at Henderson
Stadium in Macon.
The 62 point outburst
was Lamar’s
best since a
62-7 win over
Spencer in
2011 under
coach Jason
Strickland.
LC got on
the board at
the 7:35 mark
of the first pe
riod when CJ
Allen scored
on a nine-
yard run. The
PAT attempt
failed and it was 6-0.
Just under five min
utes later, Tony Altman
ripped off a 14-yard TD
run. Donavan Sanford ran
for the two-pointer and it
was 14-0.
Just 22 seconds into
the second quarter,
freshman Qua Hughley
scored on a nine-yard
run. Josh Moore nailed
the PAT and it was 21-0.
At the 7:43 mark of the
second period, Ty Head
hit Clayton Nelson on a
28-yard TD pass. Moore’s
PAT made it 28-0.
Just under three min
utes later, Head scored
on a one-yard run. Moore
again was true and it was
35-0.
With 45 seconds left
before the homecom
ing festivities, Devin
Bateman found the end
zone on a one-yard run.
Moore’s kick made it 41-
0. Head had a 50-yard run
on that drive.
In the second half,
junior running back Ken-
tavious Baker went off,
scoring on runs of 28 and
five yards.
Moore hit
both PATs and
it was 55-0.
Midway
through the
fourth pe
riod, Terry
Welch scored
on a 28-yard
fumble return.
Moore’s kick
accounted for
the final mar
gin on 62-0.
Hughley
led LC with 111 yards
on 14 carries. Other
rushers (carries-yards)
were Head (2-51), Amon
Johnson (947), Allen (6-
45), Baker (5-27), Altman
(3-35), Devin Bateman
(4-19), Daylan Cauthen
(3-19) and Sanford (4-18).
The Trojan defense
allowed the Patriots only
117 total yards in the
rout.
LC hosts Bleckley
County Friday night and
it is homecoming. The
Royals (6-0, 2-0) are atop
the region standings
after beating Monti-
cello 27-0 last week. LC’s
homecoming opponent
is ranked # 4 in the AJC/
GHSFD poll.
