Lady Trojans
notch three
wins while
Trojans struggle

The Lamar County
Lady Trojans ripped off
three straight wins last
week as the 2021-22 high
school basketball season
got fully underway
On Tuesday, LC routed
Greenville 73-44 on the
home court. Senior guard
Tamya Blasingame had
28 points to pace the
Lady Trojan attack.
Other scorers were
Shy Foster (14), Lauren
Wilcher (7), Dee Dee
Lyons (6), Journi Harris
(6), Zhy Foster (4), Kay-
lee Hamrick (4), Alexia
Jackson (2) and Janiyah
Akins (2).
In the nightcap, the
Trojans fell to the Patri
ots 67-60. Rontavious
Fluellyn led LC with 23
points.
Other scorers were
Josh Driver (11), Ty Head
(10), CJ Allen (9), Alex
Abernathy (3) and Jamar-
ian Bentley (2).
On Friday night, LC
traveled to Social Circle
and rolled to a 66-47 vic
tory. Shy Foster went off
for 27 points to led LC
while Blasingame added
23.
Other scorers were
Zhy Foster (6), Harris (6),
Wilcher (2) and Hamrick
(2).
In game two, the Tro
jans lost 74-59. Fluellyn
exploded for 30 points
to lead Lamar while
Head was also in double
figures with 12.
Other scorers were Al
len (6), Driver (4), Aber
nathy (2), Cameron King
(2), Braden Maisonet (2)
and Reco Walker (1).
On Saturday night, LC
visited Upson-Lee and
the Lady Trojans topped
the Lady Knights in
convincing fashion 71-35.
Blasingame had 29 points
for LC while Shy Foster
added (19). Zhy Foster
also hit double digits
with 11 points.
Other scorers were
Harris (7), Lyons (2),
Mackeda Hubbard (2)
and Wilcher (1).
The boys matchup,
the Knights prevailed
over LC 65-46. Abernathy
was the lone Trojan in
double figures with 14.

Head (8), Driver (7),
Fluellyn (6), Allen (5),
Devin Bateman (3), Bent
ley (2), and Walker (1).
LC travels to FPD
tonight and hosts Social
Circle Friday. Action
begins at 6 p.m. On Sat
urday, LC hosts Jackson
with games beginning
at 2:30 p.m. at the local
gym.

Lamar County junior
linebacker/running
back CJ Allen Player of
the Year. Projected as a
linebacker/EDGE at the
next level, Allen has of
fers from UGA and many
others college football
powerhouses.
Joining Allen on the
all-region first team were
lineman Jaden Banks
and tight end Christian
Bostic.
Trojans named to the
second team were Daniel
Dinkins, Reco Walker,
KeShawn Blackmon, Kale
Bryan, Josh Moore and
Hunter Hammock.
Trojans making the
honorable mention
list were Qua Hughley,
Clayton Nelson, Hutson
Traylor, Jordan Glover,
Daylan Cauthen, Jaydin
Glover, Donavan Sanford
and Antonio Altman.

The Rock Springs Christian Academy middle school football team went undefeated this season. They won both the first and
second round of playoffs leading them to the Championship game Nov. 11.
RSCA Varsity earn state championship,
middle school has undefeated regular season

Christian Academy
Middle School football
program finished with an
undefeated regular sea
son. The middle school
Eagles won both the
first and second round of
playoffs, leading them to
the Championship game
on Nov. 11 where they
placed as State Runner-
Up. They completed their
season as GAPPS Middle
School 8-Man Football
Region Champions and
State Runner-Up.
The RSCA Varsity
football program finished
the regular season 7-4
overall and advanced
to the GAPPS State
playoffs. RSCA defeated
Flint River Academy in
the state semifinals on
Nov. 12 and advanced to
the state playoffs. The
Eagles had a victorious
22-8 win over Harvester
Christian Academy in the
State Playoffs on Nov. 19,
earning them the GAPPS
Class A 11-man State
Championship title
“The players really
began to believe in them
selves especially after all
the adversity we experi
enced last year. This sea
son is a testimony of the
power trusting God and
leaving it all in his hands.
They went out and used
the gifts he gave them
to have a successful
season,” said Varsity
head football coach Clint
Ashmore.
