TRI-HI-Y RECEIVES
FIRST CHARTER
According to an announcement
i made by Mr. N. Milton Brown, sect,
of the Southwest division of the Y. M.
' C. A. movement in Georgia, at the
Tri-Hi-Y Program Planning Confer-
’; ence in Quitman. Saturday, October 4,
' the first club charter this year was
granted to the Donalsonville Senior
Tri-Hi-Y. The charters are granted to
i clubs reaching a certain number of
points on the ten point system and
the Donalsonville Club was the first
club in the state to reach this’ goal,
j the Valdosta club was second and the
Climax Club third. The Club members
are justly proud of this achievement
j and trust that during the year they
can keep up the same high grade of
i work, and rank among the leading
clubs at the end of this school year .

basketball, After teaching the funda
mentals of the game In the earlier

playing showed improvement. At

MR ARTHUR P, SIRMONS
DIES IN ALABAMA
Mr. Arthur P. Sirmons, age 42,
passed away at his home at Childer
burg, Ala., from an accident on Sep
tember 23rd. Funeral services were at
Brinson Baptist Church September
s 2th at 3 o’clock, with interment in the
: Brinson cemetery.

Bessie U n d three children.

The club, which is undertaking a 1
campaign to raise money for new j
stage equipment, has selected Vernon '
Glenn, Columbus, and Mary Davis,
Donalsonville, to serve as a committee
with President Adams to select the
first play of the year.
The club made a hit with its final
l presentation last Spring of the fam
ous stage and screen show, “Dark Vic
' tory.”
M|ss Louise Roberts who is a stu
dent at G, s, C, in Americus spent last
week-end here with her parents.
